THEY'RE PEOPLE TOO-Blogfest

(Word Painting Blogfest entry see below!)

So my dearies, it is today my pride and pleasure to present to you the....

It has been brought to my attention that for recent blogfest entries I've foregone the normal thematic interpretation in favour of a personification of the theme. I wrote about A Day in the life of Death and let the Weather God complain.

So I thought I'd make a blogfest out of it and let you try, too. For this blogfest, this is what I want you to do:

  • pick a more or less abstract concept... hate, love, weather, clouds,  death, life, anything you can think of
  • write a monologue/dialogue/scene featuring said personified concept as the MC
  • do so using somewhere in the region of 500 words - this is supposed to be a challenge, right?
  • sign up on the linky list below by Oct 2nd at the latest
  • post your monologue/dialogue/scene on Oct 2nd and provide a link back to this post so people can have a look at the other entries, too
  • Read entries and leave comments (generally, the more you comment, the more comments you will receive, so this is fairly self-serving)
  • *EDIT* obviously I'd like you to follow me, too, but if you don't want to be friends, so be it! *sob*
That's it!

Oh wait. No it isn't.

There's also a PRIZE!!! This here book is up for grabs:

You may have read the review I wrote on my Writer's Helpers page...if not, check it out HERE

If you want to win this, you have to do a bit more than listed above:
  • Tweet about it using #abstractpeoplefest (1 entry per tweet, max. 5 entries)
  • Place either of the two buttons on your blog (2 entries per button) (they have to be there when I read your entry, if they're there when you sign up add another 2 entries)
  • Blog about it in a post (5 entries)
  • Advertise some other way (potentially 1 entry per ad, you have to tell me about it in comments, though, so I can check it out) (I'm thinking Facebook here)
  • Be PUNCTUAL with your entry, that means by MIDNIGHT ON THE 2ND IN LONDON, UK!!
  • If you live anywhere other than Europe, Canada or the US of A, please let me know so I can check out shipping options. If all else fails, the alternative prize is a $ 15 Amazon.com voucher. I'll also (obviously) need a real name and address for the shipping...think about it.
  • Winner to be chosen by Random.org, in case you're wondering

*If you have a problem with your link, or you made a mistake entering it, please let me know in comments and I'll see if I can fix it*

If you're posting your entry late, please LET ME KNOW IN COMMENTS so I don't miss it!

Here's the two images, I'm not up to the html at the moment (sorry) so just copy them and then link them back to this page, here...

Interesting idea. I'll at least consider joining but I don't know about it because I don't want to start anything new and it won't fit in my blogfest novel. Good luck with the blogfest. ;-)

Tessa, you know me and blogfests. I just have to join, though who I will personify in my entry is anyone's guess. I will post your blog in my sidebar, too.

Have a great weekend, Roland

Great idea, Tessa! And the entire second novel of my trilogy is full of those personifications, so I can just snip a scene from there!!

Hi Tessa: I've put a button on my sidebar (+2) and will post another button when I do my next announcement post (+2 & +5). Obviously, I just signed up so (+2).

Total = +11 (12 if I got one to start, not sure how this works)

Anywho, prizes or not, I'm totally looking forward to the personification of inatimate and abstract objects!

Woo-hoo! You're hosting another blogfest! You always think of the most awesome themes! I'll have to think of something extra-special for this!

Anyhow, I'm linking your contest to my blog, tweeting it and announcing it on Facebook.

Did I mention you've been on my blogroll since yonks? *cough brownie points!* ;)

Hey Tessa, thought I'd commented but I hadn't. I've had your badge on my blog since I joined up.

I'll tweet about it when I put up my entry. Got a London time on my blog now.

I'd like to win a copy of the excellent book, but I live in Oz so it might be too expensive to ship should I be lucky enough! totally understand.

Should be a most interesting blogfest..:)

Wish I would have run across this sooner--would liked to have participated. Perhaps next time.
